My Practice

My integrative practice consists of the following modalities
Person Centred Therapy
Person-centred counselling is one of the humanistic modalities or approaches. Founded in the 1940s by the American psychologist Carl Rogers. Believing that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self. This process is innate and accessible to everyone.
Person centred approach creates these conditions through the core conditions:
unconditional positive regard (UPR) – accepting and valuing you
congruence - being honest and transparent in how they experience you and your world
empathic understanding – seeing your viewpoint as if they were you

Creative and Play Therapy
Creative therapies enable you to express yourself in a variety of ways, often without using words, such as through painting, drawing, photography, dance, music or drama.
Creative therapy offers a subconscious outlet for your emotions within the session.
In my practice we will often use these creative activities when finding the words don't fully explain the feelings or as a toll to compliement the therapeutic work.
Psychodynamic therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is about understanding how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences. This includes your unconscious mind and impulses.
Having an accepting and trusting relationship within therapy allows you to talk openly about topics like early childhood and your relationship with your parents.
This can help you understand what you are feeling now, why you behave in a certain way and how this affects your relationships.
Psychodynamic therapy is derived from psychoanalysis and the theories of Freud.
